Paris Fashion Week

Sulvam unveiled its Fall/Winter 2023 collection during Paris Fashion Week. The diverse collection involved Punks, Tattoos, and Kimono for menswear.

Creative director, Teppei Fujita is a Japanese designer who used to be a pattern maker at Yohji Yamamoto. However, he launched his own label, Sulvam in 2013. The brand is making its own signature style. He played with deconstructive silhouettes and details. It established a distinguishing menswear line apart from traditional men’s ready-to-wear.

In detail, this season, the brand presented new looks that implied cultural diversity such as intersects, overlaps, and crossovers. In line with that idea, the clothing displayed the free spirit of the wearer to choose their outfit and style as they like to wear.

kimonos, suits, and punk style

In addition, the dynamic range of pieces include kimonos, suits, and punk style. Those seemed difficult to match but the designer intended those pieces would allow movement and breathability.

Overall dark colors are diffused in outerwear such as black, grey, and dark navy. But a hint of red and gold give a lively mood to a meticulous silhouette. In particular, black tweed matching suits achieved a casual look with a red and beige top.

All in all, the collection features sophisticated silhouettes like wider-fit jackets and trousers that look like a skirt. The wearable pieces are both practical and versatile, making the fit just as pleasant as the good feeling one gets.

While the little details on the outfits exuded sophistication above all. For instance, drawstrings and dangling straps, and ribbons stood out. You may not need any other accessories with that look.

The collection also featured formality in the shape of a tailored jacket and matching suits whereas punk looks appeared as well. Whether you go for a formal or casual look, it works for both.

Last, the designer left a short note in the press release. “There shouldn’t be racial or language barriers, everyone should be free and happy. I believe that fashion and clothing can exist beyond these.”
