Arielle Charnas was an average woman in New York City who rose to fame overnight. Today she has 1.3 million followers on her Instagram alone. As her popularity grew through her followers and blog posts, she began to be known for her trendy clothes and relatable personality. Eventually, she became a verified influencer and created her brand through her username Something Navy, as navy is her favorite color. Arielle is loved by followers of all ages since she relates to moms through her posts of her two girls (Ruby Lou and Esme Rae), teenagers through her trendy fashion choices, and New Yorkers through her relatable experiences living in the city. Her vlogs keep her followers entertained by giving them an insight into a day in her life through workouts, makeup routines, favorite restaurant spots, and picking up her children from school. Arielle, or Something Navy as she is referred to by her fans, used this social media fame to make her way into her dream job; following in her father’s footsteps to design her own fashion brand.

In her first step towards becoming a designer, Arielle launched and sold a fashion line through Nordstrom. This collection was the first step in her journey to creating her own brand. However, selling products through Nordstrom had its benefits and downsides. Nordstrom was able to provide her with many things to make the clothing she dreamed of including factories, fabrics, and storefronts to sell them at. On the other hand, Nordstrom limited the outreach and amount of products she can sell since they have many other brands as well. After her last launch through Nordstrom, Arielle announced to her fans through Instagram that she was leaving Nordstrom to create her own website and future store in New York City to sell and release her collections privately. She was also contacted at this time by Silas Chou, an early investor in other fashion brands like Tommy Hilfiger and Michael Kors, in an offer to give her $10 million dollars in funding when she went solo.

She created her first collection for her privately-owned brand to be launched in March this year. Unfortunately, the pandemic pushed the drop back until July. Her so-called “June Collection” was dropped on July 13th, weeks before the July Collection which will be released July 27th. The wait for the release of the June Collection gave Charnas’ followers something to look forward to during a time of sad news and crisis. She also made it easier for fans to purchase items from the collection by selling them online-only, which was beneficial since many feared or were unable to go into stores. Arielle is hoping to open her Flagship Boutique in the West Village of New York City soon, but construction has been put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

With the launch of the June Collection on July 13th, all of the products, which were all sold at under $200, sold out within the day. The success of this launch is very much evident from that statement alone. The launch of the June Collection also allowed for the release of her new website with sections that sell her clothing, promote other brands she loves, and display the blog posts from her Something Navy team. The products within this collection include the Arielle dress, Meghan sweatsuit, Nikki jumpsuit, and more all named after members of her team. With her next launch coming in just a few weeks, Arielle Charnas has a lot to look forward to, and fans can purchase even more new products very soon.
