Paul Andrew, Salvatore Ferragamo’s creative director, decided to be very creative with this 2019 Pre-Fall collection. Andrew didn’t need to look far for inspiration, Guillaume Meilland, menswear design director, went with a more exotic look for the collection. He found British expat Paul Bowles’s sartorial eccentricity very interesting.
He was inspired by editorials and fashion shows from the ’80s. While finding that inspiration, he found images of an oversize coat that provided the template for most of the collection he worked on.
Ferragamo’s decided to go with a coed approach that has worked out for them.
