Sabrina Carpenter Works the Variety Red Carpet
Every now and then I wonder what success looks like. In today’s social climate, social media seems to be skyrocketing everyone to fame at unprecedented speed, but those who have spent years creating a name for themselves get left behind. After a childhood acting career on Disney Channel in her early days, Sabrina Carpenter traded her acting shoes in for singing—and she’s been in the game for quite some time now. After a wildly successful year opening for Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour, Carpenter reflects on her career at the Variety Hitmakers Awards. Arriving in style, Carpenter absolutely killed her red carpet look for the evening. Accepting the “Rising Star” honor on Saturday, December 1st, Carpenter quoted the classic fable The Tortoise and the Hare during her acceptance speech. “Something that my mom always said to me as a little girl that really annoyed me was that I am the tortoise, and if you guys know the tortoise and the hare thing, that pissed me off a lot because…in moments of frustration and confusion it can feel like a letdown, but it turns out it’s actually a very good thing. And I’ve really loved getting to know the mindset of a slow rise.” Inspirational!
Time for the Fashion
Wearing a gorgeous high neck slinky black dress, Carpenter looked incredibly elegant as she accepted her award. The silky material of the garment complemented her body in such a way that is both sexy and classy, which is the perfect vibe to emulate for Variety. Not only did she stun in this chic dress, Carpenter channeled her inner “Coquette Girlie” and topped her look off with a black bow in her hair.
