A Love Letter to London

The Fall/Winter 2025 collection was a masterful ode to the timeless elegance and vibrant energy of London. Drawing inspiration from the city’s historic landmarks, bustling streets, and regal charm, Pamella Roland crafted a line that spoke to the brand’s sophisticated woman. The collection captured the duality of London—its rich history and dynamic present—through a fusion of architectural motifs, bold design elements, and exceptional couture craftsmanship.

The Color Palette: A Nod to London’s Iconic Landscapes

The color palette was deeply rooted in London’s iconic landscapes. Deep royal blues and purples evoked the city’s regal heritage, while rich burgundies and muted greys mirrored the reflective waters of the Thames. Emerald greens paid homage to Hyde Park’s lush greenery, and gold accents added a touch of opulence, reminiscent of the city’s gilded history.

Architectural Motifs and Key Design Elements

Architectural influences were central to the collection, with structured silhouettes and intricate embellishments inspired by both Gothic and modern styles. Key design elements included unique shoulder accents, animal prints, dramatic capes, and liquid metallic finishes, all of which captured London’s spirit of innovation and avant-garde fashion.

Standout pieces included a gunmetal gown with sculpted shoulders and faceted fringe, exuding both strength and femininity and a black satin midi dress and coat adorned with black crystal and a zebra motif, showcasing the collection’s bold yet elegant aesthetic.

The front row was a who’s who of fashion, entertainment, and media, with Elizabeth Gillies, Afiya Bennett, Jaimie Alexander, and June Ambrose among the notable attendees. Nigel Barker, Jillian Hervey, Melanie Hervey, and Jay Manuel also graced the event, adding to the evening’s glamour.

Behind the Scenes: A Team of Visionaries

The show’s success was a testament to the talented team behind the scenes. Makeup by Rick Dicecca, global makeup artist for Artistry by Amway, and hair by Narad Kutowaroo for UNITE Haircare, perfectly complemented the collection’s regal yet modern vibe. Nails were styled by Patti Yankee and Team PYP, while Chopard provided exquisite jewelry that added a touch of luxury to the looks.

The show’s production was a collaborative effort, with casting by SD Casts, music by Javier Peral, set design by Edward Ross, and lighting design by Thierry Dreyfus. Eyesight Group handled production, while Go Runway captured the runway photos, BFA managed FOH photography, and Paolo Pucci for Indigital Images created the show’s video content. Purple PR handled front-of-house and press duties.

A Conversation with Pamella Roland

As part of the evening’s festivities, I had the distinct pleasure of sitting down with Pamella Roland herself to discuss her latest collection and the inspiration behind it. When asked about her creative process, Roland shared, “London has always been a city that inspires me—its history, its energy, its ability to blend the old with the new. For this collection, I wanted to capture that essence and translate it into pieces that feel both timeless and modern.”

She also spoke about the importance of craftsmanship in her designs, emphasizing how each piece is a labor of love. “Every detail matters,” she said. “From the architectural silhouettes to the intricate embellishments, it’s about creating something that feels special and unique for the Pamella Roland woman.”

Roland’s passion for her craft was evident in every word, and her dedication to celebrating femininity and elegance shone through in the collection.

Zoey: What was the inspiration for this season’s collection?

Pamella Roland:  It’s London, England

Zoey: ahh Londinium as the Romans would call it—one of the most influential cities in the world. one of my favorite places. How did this line incorporate the theme of London?

Pamella Roland: first off when been there quite frequently lately due to us designing clothing and costuming for the stage play “The Devil Wears Prada”  featuring Vanessa Williams. She looks fabulous. and the play is a must-see.

Zoey:  How does the use of fabric—through its textures, patterns, or materials—help tell a story or reinforce the theme of London in this collection?

Pamella Roland: Just Walking around London you see so much Architecture and history. I mean if you think about the different colors like the different variations of golds, the different hues of reds from double-deck buses, and just the regalness of it all. walking around Hyde Park and seeing all the greens and different textures.

Zoey:  What was the most difficult issue in creating this collection?

Pamella Roland:  In this Collection, we have a lot of different necklines and sometimes it can create issues that lead to a lot of going back and altering or completely changing the neckline of some of the garments.

Zoey: Shows are always one of my favorite to cover because your collection is always Immaculate. What was one of your favorite pieces in this F/w 25 collection?

Pamella Roland:  So there is a red velvet strapless draped gown with an embroidered bodice. And there is a gold gown paneled sequin embroidery that will have you in complete awe. There is so much tailoring in this collection to keep up the energy of regalness in this collection.  Match the setting of the only one rainbow room which is one of the jewels of New York City.

Zoey: Thank you so much for taking the time to sit with us before the unveiling of your collection. we truly appreciate it.

Pamella Roland: the pleasure is mine.
