ONE/OF BY PATRICIA VOTO SS23

ONE/OF BY PATRICIA VOTO premiered their Collection #5—their fall line and the fifth capsule for the 2 year old emerging brand—at Electric Lady Studios, the Greenwich Village institution founded by Jimi Hendrix. Staying within the ELS family and its goal to foster up-and-coming artists, the presentation features a short live performance by Charlotte Rose Benjamin.

“This collection is arguably our most exuberant and eccentric. It’s all inspired by Jimi Hendrix and the era that he continued to influence—even after his unfortunate passing,” says Patricia Voto, the founder and designer of ONE/OF. “There’s a sense of mystery and maximalism here. Presenting at Electric Lady [Jimi’s Greenwich Village recording studio] was the most inspiring way to tell this story, given its place in Jimi’s legacy.”

Made from the surfeit fabrics of heritage brands and European mills (think Maison Bucol), ONE/OF is quickly becoming heralded for its cut-to-order, glove-fit designs and revived textiles. The Fall 2022 Collection features a fresh, if not funky, mix of structured suiting, empire-waist pleated skirts and one-shoulder mini-dresses—styles that defined the late 60s and informed the disco glamour that enveloped the 70s. Favorites like the Betti Bra and Sharon Swing Coat return, accessorized with embellished collars or paired back to fur coats.

ONE/OF’s collection is complimented by jewelry from Eva Fehren. Like ONE/OF, Eva Fehren is a woman founded, small business that allows individuals to build looks that are personally relevant and unique to them. All of which are important to ONE/OF’s conviction of creating made-to-order, sustainable fashion. This will be ONE/OF’s first foray into men’s suiting, styled with mohair and sequined turtlenecks, boldly tailored to channel Jimi’s admiration for vibrant formalwear. “It was the obvious next place for us to go,” says Voto. “We’re so excited about the textiles for these pieces.”

Three of the styles were produced in partnership with SEDDI, a software company creating cloud-native apparel simulation. ONE/OF will release its past collections for resale or rental, on AirRobe, a commerce platform powering the circular fashion economy.
