Miami Swim Week® The Shows Unveils Resort 2027 Defining the Future

MIAMI, FL — Miami Swim Week® The Shows returned to Mondrian South Beach this past weekend, bringing together an international roster of emerging and established designers to debut their Resort 2027 collections. As one of the industry’s premier swim and resort wear platforms, the event showcased a diverse range of aesthetics while highlighting the trends set to define the upcoming season.

Across the runway presentations, designers embraced bold self-expression through innovative textures, dramatic silhouettes, handcrafted details, and cultural storytelling. Key themes included intricate ruching, metallic finishes, crochet and knit elements, sportswear influences, statement cutouts, and layered resortwear. Color palettes ranged from vibrant neons and tropical prints to soft pastels, earthy neutrals, and sunset-inspired tones.

Among the standout collections was Sabana Swim, which celebrated its Colombian roots through sunset-inspired hues, textured knitwear, and ruched swim silhouettes. Cowrie shells, beadwork, and flowing cardigan-style coverups added dimension, while a special Colombian flag moment underscored the brand’s cultural inspiration.
Ci Swim x Mariella Swim delivered one of the weekend’s most playful presentations, blending athletic influences with resort glamour. Jersey-inspired coverups, football and soccer motifs, lace-up detailing, and knee-high athletic socks created a unique game-day-meets-beach aesthetic that stood out on the runway.
Elegance took center stage at Michell Llouvent, where metallic finishes, pastel pinks and blues, and structured dresses showcased a refined femininity. Ballerinas walking the runway enhanced the artistic atmosphere, reinforcing the collection’s graceful inspiration.

Normal Culture embraced maximalism with vibrant prints, neon colors, dramatic cutouts, and asymmetrical silhouettes. The show also generated buzz with appearances from Zeus Network personalities, including Jelaminah Lanier and Ahna Mac, while Scotlynd Ryan made a memorable runway appearance alongside her newborn child.
Glamour and sophistication defined Autty Simone’s collection, which featured shimmering sequins, mesh mini dresses, cutout detailing, and dramatic evening-ready resortwear. Structured tailoring balanced the collection’s feminine silhouettes, creating a polished yet playful presentation.

Known for its bold aesthetic, Lila Nikole presented a vibrant collection infused with checkerboard motifs, color-blocking, Carnival-inspired elements, and tropical prints. Mesh crop tops and oversized lightweight pants offered effortless coverup options while maintaining the designer’s signature high-energy appeal.
Oceanic influences dominated the runway at Smart Swimsuits, where marine-inspired prints, shell details, and layered jewelry complemented functional swimwear designs. Lifeguard-inspired red one-pieces, plunging necklines, and flowing coverups reinforced the collection’s beach-ready versatility.

Meanwhile, Liliana Montoya embraced understated luxury through neutral color palettes, handwoven textures, fringe details, and delicate knit constructions. The collection showcased elevated beachwear with an emphasis on craftsmanship and effortless sophistication.
Closing out the highlights was Luxe Living Fashion, which delivered drama through metallic fabrics, lace detailing, leather accents, oversized sequins, and feathered shoulder embellishments. Bold colors and striking silhouettes created a runway presentation that embodied statement-making resort glamour.
As Resort 2027 begins to take shape, Miami Swim Week® The Shows demonstrated that the future of swimwear lies at the intersection of innovation, craftsmanship, and individuality. From sport-inspired designs and cultural storytelling to handcrafted details and high-fashion resort dressing, this season’s collections proved that swimwear continues to evolve far beyond the beach.
