Koltson Turns Art into Fashion NYFW 23

Koltson, an up and coming luxury evening wear label made its first appearance during New York Fashion Week with their Fall/Winter 2023 Collection. The fashion designer Robert Rodriguez has created a refined simplicity with an elegant and chic feel. The collection made its debut February 14th as a sustainable luxury brand inspired by collaborations with artists from all over. This debut showcases Rodriguez’s partnership with Vicky Barranguet who specializes in abstract paintings. The two shared mood boards filled with visions and collaborated ideas for the seven canvases named “THREADS”. Furthermore, Vicky created fashion pieces mirroring her artwork into silhouettes and patterns. Dark and sophisticated rich looks of flowy dresses are some prime examples of the duo at work. The collaboration exists in a unique range of 32 outfits made with luxurious and certified natural fabrics. He also worked with fashion illustrator Pepe Muñoz who brought the collection together.

The Lookbook

Exotic designs concentrate on elongating the silhouettes in staple shades of black, gray, and white. The pieces exude a striking plunge V neckline accentuated by feathers or deep cutouts to emphasize the upper chest area. As pictured below, the sheer cape bodysuit has a bold choker that emphasizes the deep V neck and flowy sleeves to create an illusion on the wearer for an alluring look. Other styles feature shape cutouts to further accent the garments. Sheer capes drape along the model’s figure giving a goddess and chic feel for the clothing. Garments are paired with thick chunky bracelets and belts. Gold is also seen in foil among various pieces for a fun and vibrant splash of color. In addition, to the glamor the collection brings to NYFW, they also have beguiling backless dresses to give a sheer touch of sexy while keeping a sophisticated look.
