Isabel Marant: Men’s Fall Winter 2021 Collection
The newest Fall Winter 2021 collection of Isabel Marant’s Menswear line, titled Class of 2021, allows us to partake in a fusion of our youth and the productive adult life that we all strive for. With a film and a lookbook taking the place of what would’ve been a runway show during pre-COVID-19 times, Marant brings us back to our favorite old school, angsty, high school TV show, while incorporating the sleekness of modern day style.

Within the collection, we see many strong red, green, and blue looks scattered with striped, checkered, and plaid patterns. These bolder parts of the collection are balanced by the more gentle, neutral, black and white colorways.

In the short film, we see the true utility of these looks as the models run, jump, and dance around a cloakroom and a school’s gymnasium. The many loose straight-fit pant silhouettes, leather bucket hats, and puffer jackets we see on the models are reminiscent of the 90s sportswear scene that we have revived time and time again. The subtleness of denim within the collection also helps us get a vintage feel.

The incorporation of darker colored blazers and jackets add a sense of sophistication that much of our modern audience may be gravitated to. With the more neutral colors adding poise to the entirety of the collection, these looks are suitable for those who may want to tone their style down on some days.
