HFR x Toyota’s HBCU Virtual Fashion Summit

On Friday, September 17th 2021, Harlem’s Fashion Row, in partnership with Toyota, held their virtual HBCU Fashion Summit, with the goal of informing HBCU students of all available career opportunities in fashion.
The summit featured an engaging panel of industry insiders, such as legendary fashion stylist/mogul Misa Hylton, acclaimed beauty editor turned entrepreneur Kahlana Barfield Brown and industry-leading costume designer Shiona Turini.
Panel topics included ‘Becoming a Designer 101’, ‘What’s Next After Graduation?’ and ‘All Things Youtube’. The summit also featured the #HFRDriveDreams Community Grant, powered by Toyota & The Dream Project, which awarded three students with a $2,500 grant each to help fuel their fashion career dreams.
