Darnell “SuperChef” Ferguson Puts Us on to What’s Cookin???

Darnell “SuoerChef” Ferguson showed us what it’s like to be one of the top chef’s in the game. We had the chance to talk Darnell about his success and more as he gave us an insight on his life as a chef.

 

 

1) Seeing as how you’ve had an affinity for cooking at a young age; What would you suggests that adults can do to get their kids cooking early in life?

Let them watch Food Network, sign them up for cooking classes, and/or let them walk around the grocery store and ask them what they would like to help cook for dinner.

2) Social Media is all about presentation and aesthetics; what advice can you give novice at-home cooks in regards to making an “instagramable” plate of food?

There are three basic categories that chefs know each plate needs- height, color, and texture.

3) Bumps on the road to success are inevitable, yet they can be very discouraging. Is there any advice you can give to your younger fans out there that may be experiencing hardships of their own?

The most successful people endure some of the same types of hardships in life. Just know that your not off track, it’s just part of the process. You have to accept the bad with the same energy you accept the good with.

5) What was the experience of wining Food Network’s Thanksgiving challenge? How has it changed your life or your approach to cooking?

It was very challenging. It was more difficult than it looked on tv. It changed my life in the fact that I feel more confident in doing what I was called to do.

6)There not too many “fashionable” chefs that come to mind off the bat, and if I may say your a a sharp young man; are the any particular designers or trends that are your go to when out and about and not cheffing it up?

No, I’m not big on brands. I am the brand. I like to believe that whatever I’m wearing has become fashionable now. My clothes matter less because of who I am.

7) Do you have any more culinary experiences/goals you’d like to get under your belt? If so what are they

 Would like to own a restaurant in or near Disney Universal and also on Las Vegas strip
