Carolina Herrera Resort 25
On November 14th, the luxury brand, Carolina Herrera, held its Resort 25 runway show. At the magnificent Museo Anahuacalli, attendees had the pleasure of viewing all of the looks. Additionally, the current creative director, Wes Gordon, surprised and delighted guests with his new collection.
The Museo Anahuacalli was the perfect location for the show. The vibrant, lively gowns shined across the pink runway. In addition, Wes Gordon worked with four Mexican artists on this collection. Their contributions, and his design expertise, made the collection into the success it was.
The Show
There were over 30 looks in the show. Specifically, most of them included gowns with bright patterns or shining material. Wes Gordon and the Mexican artists worked hard to create these beautiful pieces.
The four Mexican artists were Jacqueline España, María de los Ángeles Licona, Virginia Verónica Arce, and Araceli Nibra Matadamas. Additionally, each one of them provided their own unique cultural inspirations and passion for their craft. Jacqueline España is a ceramicist from Tlaxcala. Specifically, her work appeared in the form of exquisite buttons on some of the pieces.
Virginia Verónica Arce is also from Tlaxcala and she created delicate embroidery for a number of the gowns. In addition, María de los Ángeles Licona also worked to design the embroidery. Araceli Nibra Matadamas made jewelry that she hand-painted with her team. Clearly, each of these artists brought a different perspective and passion to the collection.
As the models walked past the attendees, they flew in different colors. The looks exhibited vibrant floral patterns and playful silhouettes. Additionally, sequined dresses and thick belts were present. Undoubtedly, this collection brought vibrancy back into fashion. To complete the looks, jewelry came in all shapes, glowing from the runway’s light.
As Carolina Herrera is a luxury brand, it also covers the beauty and fragrance industries as well. Celebrities, like the Good Girl fragrance ambassador Karlie Kloss, attended the show. With the inclusion of the Mexican artists and their craft, this collection showed how the brand embraces life and creativity. Ultimately, the Carolina Herrera Resort 25 show was a celebration of both life and vibrancy.
