AMERICAN APPAREL TAPS HOMELESS DOGS FOR “HOODIES FOR HUMANS & DOGS” CAMPAIGN

Nine Up-For-Adoption Dogs Star in American Apparel’s Latest Pet-Apparel Campaign. The “Hoodies for Humans & Dogs” Campaign Aims at Driving Awareness, Adoptions, Donations for LA-based Non-Profit A PURPOSEFUL RESCUE.

The campaign, “Hoodies for Humans & Dogs” is a partnership with A Purposeful Rescue. Purposeful Rescue is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that saves overlooked dogs from high-kill shelters. During the month of December, when customers purchase any hoodie on the American Apparel site, 15% of the proceeds will be donated to A Purposeful Rescue. All styles are available exclusively at AmericanApparel.com.

“Hoodies for Humans & Dogs” is a heartfelt, playful campaign that extends American Apparel’s ongoing mission of inclusivity to the canine community. And in the spirit of recent American Apparel campaigns, this project expands and challenges outdated notions of traditional beauty by embracing A Purposeful Rescue’s commitment to shining a loving light on dogs who are available for adoption but often misunderstood or passed over because they are older or unconventional-looking. That’s why the organization refers to these one-of-a-kind pups as “magical unicorns.”

According to A Purposeful Rescue, “There are many amazing dogs who get overlooked, or need a little extra work or care, and we aim to give those dogs a second chance. We strongly believe we will not adopt our way out of the problem of pet overpopulation, which is why we focus heavily on prevention and community outreach. Primarily focused on South Central Los Angeles, we promote spay and neuter and education.”The organization is run entirely by volunteers who donate their nights and weekends, opening their homes to foster and care for these animals while they heal, and taking them to adoption events to find loving families.

Buy a hoodie for yourself and help make a difference for one magical creature.
