Earlier this year, Christian Dior and Air Jordan announced that they are collaborating to create a  collection to be displayed in the Men’s Fall 2020 Runway show in Miami. The partnership between these two very well known brands is very exciting for all sneaker-heads and designer fashion brand shoppers. The collaboration resulted in the limited-edition Air Joran 1 High OG Dior sneaker, which is displayed above.

The release of this shoe has been long-awaited, as it has been pushed back due to the coronavirus pandemic. In addition to the sneaker, the collaboration launch will release new apparel and accessories for consumers to purchase from. This collaboration was designed and coordinated by Kim Jones, who is currently the men’s artistic director for Dior. He believes this launch will be successful since Air Jordan and Christian Dior are both one of the top brands within their fields. This launch is significant for both brands, as it will be shown in Dior’s first men’s fashion show in the US and it is happening during the 35th anniversary of the Air Jordan 1.

The shoe’s look is inspired by Michael Jordan himself, and Dior hopes the collection gives off a 1980s American sportswear look. Along with the sneakers, the collection includes blazers, a bomber jacket, silk shorts, suede hoodie, sweaters, polo shirts, and leather pieces. Travis Scott, a famous rapper, was chosen to be the model for the Air Dior collaboration. He is shown wearing some of the apparel including the shorts, sneakers, t-shirt, blazer, and hat that will be sold. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Air Dior collection will not be sold through Dior’s stores to prevent customers from feeling the need to go shopping in person. At this time, the retail price for the sneaker is said to be around $2,000 dollars. This unique collaboration of two popular brands will bring more shoppers to both companies, and combine a look of luxury with casual comfort.
