Buckle up, Twilight fans! The beloved book series turned blockbuster film franchise may be coming to a small screen near you. Lionsgate Television is in the early stages of developing a television adaptation of Stephenie Meyer’s bestselling Twilight Saga.

What to Know About the Upcoming Twilight Series

While the series is still in its infancy and doesn’t have a network or platform attached just yet. However, Lionsgate plans to lead the development before shopping the rights to potential buyers. The project’s timeline is also up in the air. Some exciting news: Meyers herself will take part in the television adaption. Plus, Wyck Godfrey and former Lionsgate Motion Picture Group co-president Erik Feig will executive produce the show.  Fun fact: Godfrey’s Temple Hill banner produced all five of the Twilight movies that Feig’s Summit Entertainment distributed. Supposedly, Sinead Daly will write the script for the series adaptation. Some may know her other work which includes “Tell Me Lies” and “The Walking Dead: World Beyond”

For Lionsgate, Twilight is a major player in their library. The studio’s CEO Jon Feltheimer wants to expand the stories within both the Twilight and Hunger Games franchises. The news of a Twilight TV series comes as Lionsgate negotiates with multiple bidders for a potential spin-off. Also, includes its studio business and premium cable network Starz by September 2023. As of the third quarter, the studio business had grown revenue by 25% to nearly $900 million.

It’s still early days for the Twilight TV series, as there’s no timeline for when it will be taken to potential buyers. However, it’s sure to get fans of the series excited for the potential of more stories. It’s the strength of the fanbase that keeps this conversation going.
