Megan Thee Stallion has had a savage year. A lot of good things and bad things have been happening to Megan Thee Stallion, but it has led her to the top. This year Megan Thee Stallion is named GQ rapper of the year.

Despite her incident with Tory Lanez that happened in July, she is still doing her thing making the best out of it. She has been named rapper of the year by GQ and we couldn’t be more proud of her.

In her profile with GQ, she speaks about her incident that happened in July, being a black woman and losing her mother. Reading her profile with GQ shows how much strength and courage she has. The WAP rapper has had success this year. Even though this year was too much to handle, she still made it her year. She has gone through a lot on her own since her mother’s death last year. At a time like this, she needs her mother more than anything. We have all been on the journey with the incident that happened in July with Tory Lanez. The savage rapper told GQ after Tory shot her, he offered her and her friend money to keep their mouth shut.  Megan says, “At this point, I’m scared because this is like right in the middle of all the protesting. Police are just killing everybody for no reason, and I’m thinking, ‘I can’t believe you even think I want to take some money. Like, you just shot me”

Her getting shot gave her a wake-up call and shown her how Black women are being treated. She had experienced something she thought would never happen to her and especially the comments she has gotten from social media. She has encouraged black women to speak up.  “I want Black women to be louder,” she said. “I want us to be sassier. I want us to demand more, be more outspoken, keep speaking, and just keep demanding what you deserve. Don’t change—just get better. Grow from these situations. Don’t be beating yourself up about these situations, because that’d be a lot of the problems too. I feel we keep this stuff in and there’s some kind of way we flip it on ourselves”
