Dua Lipa and Donatella Versace Announce La Vacanza
Grammy award winning starlet Dua Lipa and head Versace designer Donatella have made a huge announcement today via Instagram. Together they will be releasing a collection of women’s clothes called ‘La Vacanza”. According to Donatella, the pair will be making their debut on May 23, 2023, at an intimate fashion show in Cannes.
La Vacanza is shaping up to be in the spirit of summer. Donatella shares that “Summer is a magical time. We will capture this feeling and the colors of that time of the year with something truly special and intimate”. Additionally, Dua Lipa adds, that she will be, “Letting all my summer inspirations go wild”.
Dua goes on to say that this collaboration has been a dream of hers, and she, “Cannot wait to debut it in Cannes.” To some it may come as a surprise that the pair will be coming together on a project. However, in the past Dua Lipa has worn Versace on many occasions including the Grammys in 2022 and the Met Gala in 2019.
The Pair seem to have a budding friendship
Speaking more about their close relationship Donatella says. “Working with Dua on this collection has been very exciting and I love the dynamic between us. Dua is strong, fearless, and free. Her creative vision is exceptional.
Similarly Dua says, “She and I have formed a strong bond over the years…I’m so grateful for the support I’ve received from her and the whole team since the very beginning of my career. For her to give me the honor of co-designing this collection has been a dream.”
Not much else has been shared about La Vacanza aside from the Instagram post. Fans of Versace, or Dua Lipa will have to wait until May 23 to see the collection. The collection will immediately become available for viewing on the Versace website after the Cannes fashion show.
