Cirque du Soleil Unveils Debut Fragrance
Cirque du Soleil has launched their very first fragrance “l’eau de parfum by Cirque du Soleil,”ahead of the company’s 40th anniversary. The renowned brand partnered with Flower Shop Perfumes Co. for their new artistic venture into the fragrance market, beyond the realms of their ties to entertainment. Each 100 ml eau de parfum bottle will retail for $195, exclusively direct-to-consumer through parfumcirquedusoleil.com.
“In our 40th year in business, we are continuing to evolve beyond our live show offerings and tap into additional creative avenues, which is why we are thrilled to announce this fragrance with Flower Shop,” Eleni Planet, Director of Licensing and Collaborations at Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group said in a press release. “Consumers around the globe can now experience the awe found in our iconic shows and share the joy of Cirque du Soleil every day.”
L’eau de parfum is very much building upon the theatrical and elaborate nature associated with Cirque du Soleil stage performances. As per its description, the fragrance “[weaves] a delicate synthesis of bergamot, red apple, and cotton candy, iris and freesia, buttery popcorn, and warm sandalwood, vanilla bean, and caramelized amber” in its scent. Circus of the Sun is an evident influence, by way of the glass bottle’s Art Deco tiered spile and ridged gold stopper featuring a large sun rising above the moon.
The campaign, featuring model Alyda Grace as the ethereal essence, was shot in Paris by acclaimed photographer Elizaveta Porodina, known for her captivating visual storytelling. With Porodina’s narrative eye, the premise of Cirque du Soleil’s elegance and grandeur as a brand is seamlessly captured. L’eau de parfum was crafted in collaboration with Swiss fragrance house DSM-Firmenich and Alexis Grugeon, its own award-winning perfumer. Grugeon was at the helm of creations for top brands such as Ralph Lauren, Michael Kors, and Amouage as well as celebrities, such as R.E.M. by Ariana Grande, 2021 winner of FiFi Fragrance of the Year-Popular.
Flower Shop Perfumes partnership with Cirque du Soleil marks a full circle moment for the co-founder and CEO of Flower Shop Perfumes, Isaac Lekach, who says his father desired to create a Cirque du Soleil fragrance for more than two decades. “We approached the task with utmost reverence, faithfully mirroring the meticulousness emblematic of Cirque du Soleil’s unparalleled artistry.”
