4 Must-Have Beauty Products For Spring/Summer

Beauty products are an essential aspect of your daily routine, but it’s imperative that this routine be adjusted as Spring and Summer weather approaches. Whether it be a fresh-faced dewy glow or a full glam look, we’ve rounded up 4 must-have beauty products to properly maintain your look for the transition into a new season.

SKIN TINTS

If there ever was a right time to trade your foundation in for a skin tint, it’s the Spring/Summer season. Less is always more on the face when warmer weather sets in, which is why your best bet is opting for a lightweight foundation instead of a full coverage foundation. Skin tints yield less coverage and tend to not be as long-lasting as foundation but manages to achieve a natural glowy skin-like finish. Many skin tint products are made with hydrating ingredients as well, which aids in protecting the skin barrier.

LIPS OILS

Lip oils are by no means new on the beauty scene, as they first popularized in the 1990s and 2000s but experienced a resurgence last Summer. Many lip oils contain ingredients which are meant to mitigate dry, flaky skin, while also giving lips a glossy finish sans the stickiness of a lip gloss or dryness of a lipstick. The lip oil shouldn’t necessarily be used to substitute a hydrating lip balm; while they include good ingredients, they don’t fully hydrate the lips. Allow lip oils to act as a seal, to be layered on top of a hydrating balm.

SPF INFUSED MOISTURIZER

A moisturizer infused with spf is beneficial towards the skin barrier year-round, but is especially imperative during the Spring/Summer season when the sun’s UV rays are most intense. The product is designed not only with this in mind, but for hydration at the same time. Utilizing an SPF moisturizer, as opposed to just a moisturizer and SPF respectively, simplifies your skincare routine upon combining two important steps. A moisturizer with SPF should be reapplied as needed throughout the day depending on the amount of time spent outside.

HYDRATING FACIAL MIST

Replenishment and hydration of the skin can be best achieved throughout the day with a hydrating facial mist. High temperatures can cause perspiration and dehydration of the skin, but the proper facial mist revitalizes lost moisture and keeps hydration levels maintained. Though the facial mist chosen must be compatible with your skin type, especially if you have sensitive or irritable skin. Hyaluronic acid, glycerin, and natural extracts are quite beneficial ingredients for many skin types, but irritants, alcohol, and fragrance can cause inflammation.
