By exploring fashion design, Christopher is now able to reach new insights and perspectives that he didn’t think were possible simply because he always believed in his vision. As a designer, he aspires to emphasize the principle of slowness, care, and honesty as a part of his creative process.
As a recent graduate from Virginia Commonwealth University, for the young designer, the sky’s the limit as he interns at KHIRY to pursue design.
Why Should We Watch Out For Christopher Pleasant?
While studying abroad in Portugal, New York, and Italy he further advanced his skills in screen printing and the production process to be a public art ambassador at Times Square Arts and freelance production artist at Powerhouse Arts in New York.
His work has been recognized by exhibitions like the Backdoor Gallery and The Anderson in Virginia, as well as the CFDA Graduate Showcase at NYFW. After receiving various scholarships for his prestigious work, you could say that the designer is on track to be the next big thing.
When Christopher isn’t designing garments, he is experimenting with abstraction and ways in which he can segway his artistic work into manufacturing fashion pieces. Much of the behind-the-scenes work that Christopher has done is helping him pave the way for his design journey today.
His work specialization is creating inclusive yet sustainable fashion through innovation for men, women, non-binary people, and children. Christopher’s ability to be consistent, strategic, and versatile will be one of the reasons why he flourishes in the industry.
