Clinton Hill’s very own Jay Critch released a new project entitled “Jugg Season.” Fans of Critch have been waiting a long time to see the artist release a follow up to his 2018 hit “Hood Favorite.”

Back in April of 2020, was when “Jugg Season” was first teased to fans. Now, on February 17, 2023 it was finally released. The album features 19 tracks and the length is around 53 minutes.

Moreover, the album cover illustrates Jay sitting on top of the Barclays Center surveying his kingdom and is the culmination of Jay’s five years as a crucial member of his city’s scene.

The track list features some great artists including Max B, Rich the Kid and Baby Money. Jugg Season is produced by many artists like MexicoDro, Brent Rambo, Richie Souf, RonRonTheProducer, and ThankYouFizzle. This mixture brings the 19 tracks together for a unique blend of ideas.

The Hood Favorite

Critch aims for what he categorizes as a “Five Borough Take Over”. The rapper aims to unfurl his disrespectful flexes and visceral bars in songs like “No Edits”. As well as having a counterpart “Tuscan” where he processes his pain.

Most excitingly though is that Critch wants to re-establish himself as hood favorite in songs like “Cargos” and “Raincoats” featuring the Detroit rhymer Baby Money. Notably, Rich The Kid, a mentor to Critch, reunites with him for the track “Missiles” for an atmospheric banger.

Crich found success in the past collaborating with Rich The Kid and Famous Dex on Rich Forever the mixtape series. Although it seems, that his success hasn’t stopped. Critch is always changing up his style, and on his new album he does just that. Incorporating sounds from the Shiny Suit Era and the Sound Cloud Explosion and serves as a charismatic and versatile navigator.
