Nicki Minaj Launches Her Own Record Label
Nicki Minaj announces that she’s launching her very own record label! The rapper made the announcement during her Queen Radio show on Friday. The label already has a handful of artists on its roster. For instance Nana Fofie, Tate Kobang, Rico Danna, and London Hill.
Minaj teased that she will reveal the name of her label at a later date. However, she did mention that her longtime affiliate Patty Lauren, aka Patty Duke, will serve as an A&R. Also, let’s not forget that Nicki always tries to show support and advice to younger artists. Although, they are not a part of her label. So you can only imagine what she will do for the ones that are!
Nicki Minaj’s New Song & Announcement
The Queen of Rap also spits some bars on “Red Ruby Da Sleeze,” her first single of 2023. It’s her first solo song since last year’s smash hit “Super Freaky Girl,” which topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Supposedly, the track is a diss to Meg Thee Stallion, and others in the industry that follow her blueprint. During the aforementioned radio show, with encouragement from co-president Wendy Goldstein, Nicki broke the news of the new label on the air.
“I don’t want no little itty-bitty ting ting, I want to do it right.”
she said.
Nicki wants to explore a variety of genres and musical acts. Subsequently, the new label will not just focus on rap or black artists. Many people know that Lil Wayne assisted Nicki throughout her career. Minaj hopes to do the same for up-and-coming artists on her label.
“When I came in this game I didn’t have no paperwork with Lil Wayne. But he had us on tour, he had us in a studio, he was getting on my mixtapes,”
Minaj stated.
All in all, it’s an exciting time for Nicki Minaj and her fans. We can’t wait to see what she has in store for her new record label. Stay tuned for more updates!
