Tim Dugger Says “Better Luck Next Town,”

“Better Luck Next Town” writes another chapter in the volume of new music Dugger is building and releasing across 2026. The Alabama native soon finds there aren’t enough neon lights or county lines to soothe his pain. No matter where he lands on the map, his memories always follow him. Weaving a mournful sentiment with clever wordplay, Dugger delivers another well-oiled country song best enjoyed with a glass of hundred proof.

Dugger charts a fresh musical course on My Compass, his first collection of new material following 2024’s Stars Over Alabama. The six-track EP, produced by Michael Knox (Riley Green, Jason Aldean), reveals the singer-songwriter blending heartland grit with modern polish across a batch of songs rooted in country tradition. With a soul that forever points south, Dugger maps out life’s defining moments, alongside a round of cold beer, heartbreak and neon lights. My Compass finds him coming home to the values, people and places that remain his guiding force.

This summer, the country traditionalist has been debuting new selections from My Compass at NASCAR races across the country in partnership with Speedway Motorsports, Inc. (SMI). He’s scheduled to appear at the Bristol Motor Speedway tomorrow, Sept. 19, and will perform at the Charlotte Motor Speedway on Oct. 10.
