The Jack Wharff Band Have A “Small Town Heart”
Virgina-bred thrashgrass group The Jack Wharff Band bring the warmth of coming home to life with the official music video for their new song “Small Town Heart,” out today (8.13). Directed by Sean Coberley-Sorensen (Justin Moore, Mackenzie Carpenter), the rowdy video brings the band back home for an all-out backyard bonfire party, where old friends roll in, cars turn the yard into a Walmart parking lot, and the night inevitably gets a little out of hand, all in the name of a much-needed reunion. At the center of it all, a pounding drumbeat mirrors a heartbeat, driving home the song’s message that no matter where you go, your hometown is always beating somewhere inside you.
Released August 7, “Small Town Heart” was written by band members Jack Wharff, Evan Novoa, Ryan Atchison and Garrett Howell alongside Luke Wharff and Joe Clemmons (Midland, Hayes Carll, HARDY). A thrashgrass ode to the people and places that raise you, the track, as Country Central puts it, “paves the way for an exciting new chapter” for the “energizing musical talents” of The Jack Wharff Band. It follows the band’s misfit anthem “Lowlife” (6.19) and their Strange (3.13) EP.
Next month, The Jack Wharff Band will hit the road for their The High Road Tour, kicking off in Cleveland, OH, with festival stops at Country Calling, Boots on the Bend and Rock the Country, plus select dates supporting Max McNown, Ole 60, Dylan Gossett and The Avett Brothers.
