Stars of the Season: The Festival Outfits As Seen On The “It Girls” Of Pop
As the summer music festival season comes to a close, its time to take a closer look at the at the stage outfits of the most talked about women in pop music. Not only did the dominate the charts and release hits that have taken over social media, they looked good doing it. Performing a set, headlining or not, provides these artists an ample opportunity to truly hone in on their stage wardrobe. All of the pop “it girls” were able to don outfits that were highly reflective not only of their own invididual style as artists but even of the particular moment for them within their creative journey.
Chappell Roan at Daisy Chain Fields
For the inaugural Daisy Chain Fields festival, Roan’s two piece look was designed by Michael Schmidt Studios, a creative studio based out of Los Angeles. The piece by MSS was directly inspired by the stewardess outfits from the movie “The Fifth Element” originally designed by Jean Paul Gaultier. This look combined Roan’s signature avant-garde stage looks with her appreciation of smaller design studios and up-and-coming designers.
Olivia Rodrigo at Daisy Chain Fields
While the founder of the new all women lineup festival wore several outfits during the inaugural weekend, one dress worn by Olivia Rodrigo created a significant amount of conversation and praise. Worn not on stage but during the press conference to kickoff the weekend, Rodrigo wore a custom pink mini dress designed by Nöl Collective. The label was founded by Yasmeen Mjalli, a Palestinian-American designer. On their Instagram, the brand posted several clips of the design process of the raw silk dress featuring Tatreez embroidered chains, birds, and of course daisies.
Zara Larsson at All Points East
Zara Larsson has been bringing her signature bubblegum pop style all around the world this year with one of the latest being at All Points East festival in London. The Swedish pop sensation’s breakout signature style has been the product of a collaborative effort by her stylist Caterina Ospina and Irish designer Sorcha O’Raghallaigh. While O’Raghallaigh only started working with Larsson last year, she has worked with several celebrity clients over her roughly 15 year career such as Lady Gaga and Béyonce.
Slayyyter at Lollapalooza (Chicago)
Although Slayyyter has been releasing music for nearly a decade, her latest album “WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA” shot her into a meteoric rise in popularity. Slayyyter has been known to DIY her own performance outfits, even including her debut Coachella outfit from earlier this year, but for Lollapalooza she added her signature kitschy flair to her outfit .Her top and boots are from Dsquared2’s Pre Fall 2026 and while the shorts origins are unknown, she added on fishing lures to emphasize the country look.
Charli xcx at Outside Lands
Charli xcx kicked off the touring of her latest album “Music, Fashion, Film” at this year’s Outside Lands festival in San Francisco with her classic edgy, yet feminine style. Her custom dress in the style of a moto jacket was designed by Zac Posen for GapStudio, Posen joined Gap back in February 2024 and has been credited with bringing a new energy to the brand, with GapStudio dressing the likes of several A-list celebrities since Posen’s tenure began.
