Shehxna: “Lover Girl”
Released on Monday, November 13th, Shehana aka Shehxna, debuted her latest single titled “Lover Girl” capturing the emotions of heartbreak.
Intertwined with honest lyrics, this record goes through the many emotions of loving someone before finding love within yourself. Speaking to the individuals that love too hard, coming from a heartbroken heartbreaker.
Shehxna was born and raised in London, UK and is a 20-year-old musician, artist, singer and songwriter. She moved to the United States at 18 years old to pursue her music career and obtain a college degree. As she grew up, her musical inspirations stemmed from Alicia Keys, Adele, Summer Walker, Jorja Smith and plenty more. With the artist finding her sound in the music industry, she eventually found that R&B, hip hop, and gospel aligned perfectly with her talents.
In the past, the singer has made a name for herself throughout her tenure at a performing arts organization. Along with performing in venues across the UK, from the 02 Academy in Birmingham to events in Amsterdam as a part of the gospel choir.
As she continues growing in the music industry, her song “Lover Girl” is the perfect way for her audience to see the power of her storytelling through different musical genres. Predicting that this is only the beginning for this artist and that we can look forward to seeing and hearing more sides of her.
