ROWDY REBEL’S SONG TRIBUTE TO TDOTT

Brooklyn drill rapper Rowdy Rebel keeps his friend TDott’s name alive in his new song “RIP TDott.” TDott was an influential person in the Brooklyn drill scene.

Tahjay “TDott Woo” Dobson lost his life to gun violence at age 22 in his hometown Brooklyn. He was shot in the head outside his home in Brooklyn, according to Brooklyn Police.

TDott was a rapper who hanged with artists such as Rowdy Rebel, Pop Smoke, and Fivio Foreign. He was known for his dance skills doing the Woo Walk on Tiktok and music videos. He was in multiple videos, such as Pop Smoke’s “Welcome to the Party” and Fivio Foreign’s “Big Drip” doing the infamous Woo Walk.

Rebel’s tribute song has an drill and dance appeal, which resonates with the New York drill culture and his friend TDott.

In an interview with the New York Daily News, Dobson’s grandmother said music was sentimental to her grandson. “He loved singing and dancing and all that, she said. He had a passion for music.”

Somebody took TDott’s life sadly after signing his record deal with Million Dollar Music.

Throughout the song, Rebel explains how he struggled back in the day, so he had to hustle.

Hustling brought him a long way as he became a pioneer of the Brooklyn drill scene since his arrival in early 2014 with his friend Bobby Shmurda.

His career would shortly come to a halt in December 2014 when he was arrested and served with charges such as conspiracy, attempted murder, attempted assault, reckless endangerment, and criminal possession of a weapon.

He would be released in December 2020 and return to be an artist. Rebel put out singles with artist like Pop Smoke, Nav and G Herbo until he dropped his album “Rebel vs. Rowdy” in 2022.

“RIP TDott” has some pain and struggles, but it also has that upscale drill and dance, making the song catchy. This song paid tribute to TDott the best way it could, in the form of drill and dance anthem.
