Queen Naija and Big Sean have teamed up for their soulful new single, “Hate Our Love.” This new single samples the classic 70s hit “Sounds Like A Love Song,” by Bobby Glenn. The new track celebrates a love that thrives despite hard times and haters. “Hate Our Love” was produced by Mike Woods. Woods has produced songs for many artists such as Kehlani and Yung Bleu.
About The Artists
In 2019 Queen Naija discussed bucket list collaborations with Whoo Kid. It comes as no surprise that a fellow Detroit native, Big Sean, was on that bucket list. Queen has amassed over three billion combined global streams in her career to date. After the release of her debut album misunderstood, the album entered Billboard’s Top R&B Albums chart at number 1. She was also nominated for a 2021 American Music Award in the Favorite R&B Album category. That category includes the number 1 hit “Butterflies Pt. 2” along with Gold-certified singles “Pack Lite” and “Lie To Me” featuring Lil Durk.
Multi-platinum artist Big Sean has topped the Billboard 200 for the third time with his 2020 album DETROIT 2. His six-song EP with Hit-Boy titled, What You Expect, was released last fall. Big Sean will also be performing at Coachella this April.
Queen Naija About “Hate Our Love”
“What I’d like people to take away from ‘Hate Our Love’ is don’t let anybody come in between anything or anyone that you love,” said Queen Naija about the new track. “I’m so excited to finally collaborate with Big Sean on a record…it’s been a dream of mine for a while now. With both of us being from Detroit, it felt like the perfect match up and I hope everyone loves the song!”
“They hate our love/Want to see us fall/They want to see us fall/They be hating on us/Wishing we would fall (Woah, Woah)/Can’t wait to see us fall,”
sing Queen Naija and Big Sean on the chorus of this song. In Big Sean’s opening verse he raps,
“Dead your exes, don’t let them haunt you/You know if they want what’s best for them then they still want you.”
