Prof Is A ‘Good Time Boy’

Prof Is A ‘Good Time Boy’

Lauded Minneapolis-based rapper Prof returns with his most expansive and ambitious body of work to date, Good Time Boy, released today, June 26th via his own imprint, Stophouse Music Group.

Across 16 tracks, Good Time Boy finds Prof operating at full creative velocity – balancing his signature blend of chaos, humor, technical precision, and emotional candor with a sharper conceptual edge than ever before. The album moves fluidly between raucous, larger-than-life energy and moments of striking vulnerability, capturing an artist equally comfortable commanding a festival stage or confronting his inner world in real time.

The album opens with “A Crawl Through A Low Tide”, an emotionally charged introduction that explores how fear, authority, and media narratives can be used to justify extreme, destructive behavior while masking it as patriotism. “Kin (I’m Outside)” featuring the gravelly vocals of Pete & Bas pairs Prof with the viral UK drill/grime duo for a track built on bravado and loyalty. On “Big Dog” featuring That Mexican OT and 2 Chainz, the trio deliver an ego-driven anthem built around dominance and larger-than-life charisma, while “Brrrr” featuring E-40 leans into surreal humor and hype energy with E-40’s signature style amplifying the madness.

“Dirty Work” strips things back with minimal production that highlights Prof’s lyrical precision, before “Dynamite” explodes into full club-ready chaos, living up to its name as a high-energy party record.

“Jewelry Duty” featuring T-Pain, released in March, plays like a maximalist victory lap – wild and exaggerated in equal measure. On “Destiny” featuring Sauce WalkaProf links with the Houston rapper for a slick, confident track centered on ambition and superiority.

Previously released single “Kia Boy” continues the rollout with unfiltered intensity and horn-driven chaos, capturing Prof’s trademark blend of menace, humor, and momentum. Mid-album, “Fighter” shifts into a piano-led track about resilience and perseverance, followed by the brief string interlude “Saved By A Woman”“Big Wheels” returns to soulful romance, with Prof leaning into melodic, lust-driven storytelling.

The title track “Good Time Boy”, released in April, distills the album’s ethos balancing skepticism of the world with an unwavering commitment to having a good time anyway. On “Reaching for Fire”, Prof delivers one of his most vulnerable performances, confronting addiction and generational trauma, while “Imposter” takes a gospel-leaning turn into identity, doubt, and emotional fragility. The album closes with “Garden of Eden”, an uplifting finale that reframes the journey through chaos and pain with the simple truth that even in a broken world, love remains possible.

Good Time Boy captures Prof at his finest – across humor, chaos, heartbreak, and celebration, the album reveals an artist unafraid to expand his palette while staying rooted in the unapologetic personality that has earned him one of independent rap’s most devoted fanbases.

As Prof puts it, “‘Good Time Boy’ is about trying to be an optimist in the face of global destruction. It’s a 100% human made record against fear, anxiety, and hopelessness. Get yourself a GOOD TIME BOY today to help yourself through these times.”

Prof’s last LP HORSE shocked pundits and the industry alike with an incredible run across charts and streaming platforms following its April 2023 release, reaching #2 Current Rap Album, #1 Heatseekers Album, #1 Emerging Artist Album, #8 Top Billboard Album, and #17 Independent Album during release week. Building on that momentum, Prof has continued to expand his reach through relentless touring, viral releases, and a reputation for explosive live shows, sharp-witted lyricism, and a fearless blend of humor and honesty that has carved out a singular space in modern independent hip-hop.

Emerging from Minneapolis and rising through word-of-mouth acclaim, he has cemented his status as one of independent rap’s most unpredictable and compelling voices. Following the success of Horse and a string of viral releases, Prof will next prepare to support Good Time Boy with a 12-city headline tour in Fall 2026, bringing his renowned live spectacle and immersive crowd experiences to stages across the country, continuing to redefine what an independent rap show can be.
