Playboi Carti Rockstar Persona Always Delivers

When mentioning the greatest performer of the 2020s, Playboi Carti’s name should be at the highest degree above every other artist.

Carti’s stage presence is unmatched to that of any other artist performing today because of his rockstar persona. The energy he gives to his fans when performing is reciprocated and more.

Carti developed this rockstar personality during the creation of his first album, Die Lit, which dropped on May. 11. 2018.

Before the rockstar image, Carti was known as the laid-back and chill, pretty boy. He was always a good performer, but his music wasn’t as amplified as it is now.

He had a couple of songs on his 2017 mixtape “Playboi Carti” that were amplified, such as “Wokeuplikethis*” and “Magnolia”, but others songs like “Kelly K” and “Let It Go” weren’t crowd exciting.

2017 Carti consisted mainly of mumble rapping, with repetitive lyrics.

After dropping his mixtape, Carti began to take his music and personality to a different level. On his first album Die Lit he has songs like “R.I.P.” and “R.I.P. Fredo” that are signs that Carti and his music were going into a rockstar phase. But after he dropped his album Whole Lotta Red on Christmas Day in 2020, he was all in on the rockstar lifestyle.

Whole Lotta Red is one of the best albums of 2020, and still is one of the best albums today. Songs on WLR primarily consist of bass, guitar, and drums, so you have no choice but to rock out to the album. The first song on WLR, “Rockstar Made” kicks off the tone for the album with its bass intensity and Carti’s energy.

When Carti performs songs at concerts today, 90% of the songs are from WLR. This album is meant for shows with the bass and drums through mostly every piece.

Carti takes his performance to another level by having props on the stage to perform on. He appeared at The Summer Smash 2022, performing on top of a pyramid.

On stage, he tends to yell and make screeching noises, channeling his inner vampire. Not only is he identifying himself as a rockstar, but he goes by King Vamp, identifying himself as a vampire.

In an interview with Power 106 FM Los Angeles, Playboi Carti said he goes to the studio late, at about midnight, referring to these times as vampire hours. This may be where he developed the “King Vamp” title.

Carti fans are so full of energy and rage. The best mosh pits happen at a Carti concert.

One of the most unique things about his concerts are that he has a guitarist with him on stage playing along to his songs and rocking out with him. His guitarist who hasn’t been identified, is one of the best guitarists you will ever see perform. Carti also has friends with him on stage raging with him as well. His friends tend to yell to get the crowd hyped.

“Stop Breathing” is one of the best songs that Carti performs. It’s a song that instantly brings the crowd’s energy from 0-100. Other songs like “New Tank”, “Teen X”, and “On That Time” are crowd favorites as well.

Fans are looking for Carti to drop another album to follow up after WLR, but speculations have been he will probably put out another one for his upcoming tour with his label.
His new tour is called the Antagonist Tour and he will be bringing artists from his label Opium, such as Ken Carson, Destroy Lonely, and Homixide Gang. This will be one of Carti’s most lit tours yet.
