Coco Jones Releases “ICU” Remix

Rising pop and R&B artist Coco Jones has released a new remix of her song “ICU” with Justin Timberlake. While Jones is up and coming, she has always been ambitious, being raised in Nashville, Tennessee by her mother, who was a singer, and her father, who played in the NFL. She first began recording music at the age of nine followed by starring in television and film. She was a recurring character in the musical sketch comedy So Random!, and played a lead role as a pop star in the movie Let It Shine on Disney Channel. In recent years, she has played Hillary Banks on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air reboot on Peacock and also has found herself stepping into a new music career.

“ICU” was first released in October 2022. It debuted at number 88 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and peaked at number 63. Nearly nine months later, “ICU” has been revamped with Justin Timberlake. It was first teased by Jones on Twitter on July 10th when she posted a set of screenshots including a crying emoji and river, a scene from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, and a collage of boy bands. Pop music superstar Timberlake shares a background with Jones as he was also raised in Tennessee and first found stardom on Disney Channel. His verse in the remix continues the longing and romantic lyrics of the original. Harmonies and runs tie the unexpected duo together, especially in the last chorus and outro.

While the “ICU” remix is the first musical release of Timberlake this year, it is not the first of Jones. It comes after the release of a sped-up version of the song, a deluxe version of her album What I Didn’t Tell You, and the “Until The End Of TimeSpotify Single with Leon Thomas III, another multi-talented artist who also starred on a children’s television channel. Jones also caught attention recently when she performed “Rain” by SWV sampled in her song “Double Back” as it began to rain at Broccoli City Festival in Washington D.C.

Coco Jones is getting the praise she deserves as a rising artist, winning Outstanding New Artist at the NAACP Image Awards and Best New Artist at the BET Awards. The “ICU” remix is now available to stream on all platforms.
