Up and coming rapper Iman Nunez’s new single “Get Off My Back” confront his doubters as he paves his path as a music artist. Born and raised in Yonkers, New York the rapper always knew he was meant to do more than be a regular working person. He knew his heart resided in music, so he followed his dreams into a career in hip-hop. Music offered the artist an opportunity to pave his dream path. Giving Nunez a creative outlet to express himself fully, which is evident in his songwriting skills. He made way into the music scene in 2016 with his debut, To Be Continued, hosted by Hot 97’s DJ Enuff. In the year 2022, Iman did a cross-country tour for his Rosedale EP, which came out in the second half of the year. He has also headlined and sold out shows at SOB’s and The Knitting Factory. Having his name alongside established hip-hop artists ranging from The LOX, 21Savage, Megan Thee Stallion, Coi Leray, and Griselda!

Iman Nunez’s features a music video alongside his newest single, “Get Off My Back” directed by the rapper himself alongside Dre Hartwell. The rapper opens up the music video talking about some of his struggles. Nunez talks about how he feels like he is silenced rather than feeling welcomed. His lyrics perfectly explain his truth. “The thing is, they don’t like confrontation. They just look for problems, so their life could be somewhat relative, something to talk about with the people they want to impress…”. The video then transitions to Iman Nunez rapping in the city. Realizing he is done with complacency and losing friends in his pursuit of a music career. Nunez’s lyricism confesses his feelings like how “these demons come with luxuries” as his journey comes with the finer things in his life. This scene continues about his tolerance through this crazy journey and having doubters, metaphorically, surround him. At the end of the music video, we find the rapper sitting at merry-go-round finally coming to terms with his decision. Saying, “F***k the congratulations”, basically removing himself from these toxic “friends” and creating his own boundaries.
Iman Nunez is not only a great hip-hop artist, he is an outstanding storyteller. Letting his fans in on his true emotions through his songwriting. That’s what makes a successful artist, someone who is not afraid to show who they truly are. This single “Get Off My Back” is a true work of art, sending out a message to his fans.
