Farruko Pays Tribute To Legend Bob Marley
Global hitmaking singer-songwriter Farruko pays tribute to the legendary musician with his own version of Bob Marley’s iconic hit “Jamming,” titled “Rasta Reggae (Jamming).” The song is part of the official deluxe version soundtrack for Paramount Pictures’ much anticipated Bob Marley biopic titled Bob Marley: One Love. Farruko is the only artist on the album that recorded another version sampling Marley’s vocals. The soundtrack is now available via Tuff Gong/Island Records. “What a blessing it was to get to be a part of such an iconic project. When the opportunity was presented to me, I chose Jammin’ because it is one of my favorite songs from Bob. I knew this was the one. The process was incredible because I got to sample his vocals in a song I was on. It was a wow moment for me, like if I actually recorded with THE Bob Marley! It was an honor to take part and that this film will show he was more than a leader, he was a prophet, someone who forever changed the music culture and who made it a priority to fight for human rights and peace and equality. I very much identify with him. He has always inspired me and we share something else so special, that island culture, it’s in our blood.” – commented Farruko.
The film’s soundtrack, ‘BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE (MUSIC INSPIRED BY THE FILM),’ features contemporary covers of essential compositions from Bob Marley interpreted by KaceyMusgraves, Wizkid, Leon Bridges, Jessie Reyez, BloodyCivilian, Skip Marley (grandson of Bob Marley), Farruko, Mystic Marley (granddaughter of Bob Marley), and Shenseea.
Bob Marley: One Love, already in theaters, “celebrates the life and music of an icon who inspired generations through his message of love and unity,” shares Paramount Pictures. The film was produced in partnership with the Marley family and stars Kingsley Ben-Adir as Bob Marley and Lashana Lynch as his wife Rita.
Once again, Farruko continues to add achievements to his successful career, and his participation in Bob Marley: One Love is proof of that. The release of “Rasta Reggae (Jamming)” follows a monumental year for the global superstar – who reached his 47th number 1 on the Latin Airplay chart with smash hit “Pasa_je_ro.” Farruko is now preparing for a series of festival appearances, headlining La Onda Festival by Bottlerock in California on June 1 and 2, and Vibra Urbana in Miami this upcoming Saturday, February 17.
Additionally, Farruko is putting the finishing touches on his upcoming studio album and will embark on a tour in South America, and has announced his return to 21 North American stages for his CARBON ARMOR TOUR in support of the release of his upcoming album scheduled for spring 2024.
