Electronic Pop Duo Debut Release

The up and coming electronic pop duo, Not the Ending, are set to release their debut single “Give it Time (Fading)”, this Friday. The duo of singer and songwriter Julia Segal and producer Matt Francisco (Without the San) have reconnected to make their first song together. 

Without the San and Julia were friends in high school. They’ve blended Julia’s singing and Without the San’s production to create their group, Not The Ending. Their sound is described as a blend of indie pop and synth. They get their music inspiration from artists like Laszewo, The Japanese House, and Sylvan Esso. 

Julia’s influences come from vocal pop and musical theatre. Her voice on “Give it Time (Fading)” is beautiful. She sounds as if she’s been singing for 10+ years. Without the San’s influences come from house and techno music. He is an LA-based producer and photographer. His Instagram is filled with professional photos he has taken of people. He’s not only a great producer, but a great photographer as well. 

Without the San has music on platforms such as, Apple Music, Spotify, Tidal, and Soundcloud. His Blurry project is a 12-song piece comprising techno beats. He has two features on the album with artists such as Dan Felix and Alain Xiong-Calmes. 

“Give it Time (Fading)” suggests waiting for your moment to come. We all go through moments in life where we are so impatient and want things to come right away. Unfortunately, it takes time and we need to wait for our moment and that is what Julia suggests in her song. The song’s powerful message and Julia’s majestic voice make this a really good piece. Not The Ending are recording and producing their first EP. Hopefully we get to hear more of the beautiful music these two put out.
