Chris Brown Drops Sweetened Deluxe ‘Chocolate Edition’ of Newest Album
On Friday, June 19th, multi platinum R&B superstar Chris Brown released a deluxe edition of his latest album titled ‘BROWN (The Chocolate Edition)‘. The artist showed fans his self titled album just over a month ago on May 8th. ‘BROWN‘ immediately received mixed reviews from the general public and music critics across the globe. Pitchfork rated the album a 1.3/10, describing it as soulless and repetitive. Additionally, they accuse Brown of relying on nostalgia to carry his songs. Many believe the songs simply don’t hit the same as they once did. But critiques like this don’t stop Brown. It only fuels the fire.
The Deluxe edition features 10 new tracks, added to the already impressive 27, making the album’s total runtime a whopping 2hr and 3min. Tracks like “GP”, “4EVER” and “Appreciate It” look to continuously prove the doubters wrong. Brown received heavy criticism for multiple rap features in his original May release. So what’d he do with the deluxe edition? Shying away from this notion might prove beneficial.
But Brown had other ideas. While “Man on a Mission” features Wizkid, a Nigerian R&B, reggae and afrobeats mixer, “Just the Bro” features rap stars Tyga & Ty Dolla Sign. This album is about pushing boundaries. It’s about being vulnerable. And we can see the deluxe edition is no different.

Moreover, the Grammy Award winning R&B star is looking to prove everyone wrong. His latest instagram post echoes this notion captioned, “Ima turn the deceivers into believers! Or just get them out the way. whatever’s easier!” It’s safe to say there’s no sweat off Brown’s back.
Chris Brown is set to co headline “The R&B Tour” with Usher across North America. The first show kicks off a summer of fun in Denver, CO at the Empower Field at Mile High on on Friday, June 26th. Key stops include major cities like Detroit, Toronto, Santa Clara and Las Vegas. The tour concludes with massive shows in Miami and Tampa Bay in early December.
