Chet Faker Returns With “Something Like This,”
Much lauded, Australian-born vocalist, songwriter and producer Chet Faker unveils a new song, “Something Like This,” today alongside a video directed by Alana O’Herlihy (Miley Cyrus, Dua Lipa, Bella and Gigi Hadid). His first new music of the year, Chet Faker wrote, recorded and produced the track himself. Clint Gibbs (Kim Petras, Nicki Minaj, Doja Cat) mixed the song.
Yesterday, Chet Faker played as a special guest at Australian producer Flume’s 10 years of Flume show at The Forum in Los Angeles. The set marked the first time the two have shared a stage in ten years, after a number of performances celebrating the success of their collaborative 2013 EP Lockjaw and its ubiquitous single “Drop The Game.” He will also join Flume May 13 at the Pepsi Center in Mexico City.
Chet Faker first endeared himself to a devoted international following with a haunting cover of Blackstreet’s “No Diggity” that catapulted him into the spotlight in 2011. He followed that up with the much-lauded Lockjaw EP with Flume and his 2014 platinum-selling debut album Built On Glass, which cemented him as a world-class talent and earned him a slew of ARIA Awards. In the years since, he’s continued to build a critically acclaimed discography—including 2021 full length Hotel Surrender and multiple releases under his birth name Nick Murphy—and has toured the world over playing sold out headline shows and stages including Coachella, Lollapalooza and countless more. New music from Chet Faker is imminent.
