Big Moochie Grape is “Going Crazy”

A “gigantic” rap figure whose vibrant charisma and immutable flow make him impossible to ignore, Big Moochie Grape is a singular presence in the Memphis music scene. Keeping the game locked down despite remaining locked up, Moochie has his sights set on freedom and the goals he intends to achieve once he attains it on his upcoming mixtape, East Haiti Baby: Incarcerated. Fitting the project’s theme and Moochie’s current situation, the tape exclusively features appearances from other incarcerated rappers, including C-Murder, who delivers an interlude over the phone, YFN LucciRio Da Yung OGBankroll Freddie, Moochie’s fellow PRE artist Bigg Unccc, and more. East Haiti Baby: Incarcerated arrives November 24th via Paper Route Empire

Along with the announcement of the project’s release date, Moochie shares his new single, “Going Crazy.” Toeing the line between flexing and fighting off insanity, the single finds Moochie at his rawest, spitting slick street bars over Bandplay’s airy production like he’s giving testimony: “Too crazy, might need me a straight jacket/Still on probation but keep me a big rack/Choppin’ sh*t up like I carry a hatchet/Paper Route Business, all my n****s savage.”

Big Moochie Grape burst onto the scene in 2019, with boisterous Memphis rap tunes like “Uh Huh Uh Huh Uh Huh,” which appeared on his debut EP, Eat Or Get Ate. Inspired by his late PRE mentor Young Dolph, Moochie went hard in 2022, releasing East Haiti Baby, home to street hits like the Bandplay-produced “Acting Up” (28 million Spotify streams) and “Christopher Wallace” (10 million Spotify streams). The mixtape earned praise from Pitchfork, who said “the Young Dolph associate’s latest album is full of hard-working hustler music that never lets up.”

With East Haiti Baby Deluxe: Incarcerated coming soon, Big Moochie Grape proves that nothing can stop him from putting in work. Stay tuned for more announcements about the upcoming project.
