Bien Knows “I’ll Be Okay”
Singer, songwriter Bien returns with his new single “I’ll Be Okay”, out today through a new joint venture between Quality Control and Courtesy Of, marking Bien’s arrival as Quality Control’s first African artist. The partnership marks a major new chapter for Kenya’s most streamed artist, as Bien continues to expand his global presence while placing the sounds, stories and culture of home at the heart of his forthcoming body of work.
Speaking on Bien joining Quality Control, Kevin “Coach K” Lee and Pierre “P” Thomas share:
“Bien is a star—seasoned, deeply talented, and the kind of artist who can hold a stadium with just a guitar. It’s so exciting to work with someone that special” – Kevin ‘Coach K’ Lee, COO Quality Control
“Bien has it! He’s got the songs, a great performer, strong fan base, and he’s already done a lot on his own. For me, it’s about how much bigger we can expand his global reach. There’s a great opportunity here to work alongside Tek to bring their vision to life, and that’s what excites me”. – Pierre ‘P’ Thomas CEO Quality Control
“I’ll Be Okay” offers the latest glimpse into Bien’s forthcoming project, with the Nairobi born artist looking inward and drawing from Kenyan musical traditions while continuing the soulful, richly melodic songwriting that has defined his career.
The anthemic ballad is accompanied by a cinematic visual set against a natural landscape, pairing sharp styling and striking imagery with the song’s themes of heartbreak, reflection and resilience.
Bien says: “I’ll Be Okay’ is about that moment when you know it’s over, but your heart hasn’t accepted it yet. It’s about ego, regret, missing someone, and trying to convince yourself that you’ll survive the heartbreak. Sometimes healing is not about being okay immediately, it’s just about telling yourself, over and over, that one day you will be. A toast to everyone trying to be Ok.”
“I’ll Be Okay” continues the evolution of Bien’s solo career, building on nearly two decades of success with Sauti Sol while further establishing a musical identity distinctly his own.
Now signed to Quality Control, Bien turns his attention to his forthcoming album. Following his 2023 debut solo album “Alusa Why Are You Topless?”, the new project looks closer to home, bringing his relationship with Kenya, its sounds and its creative community further into focus.
