Asher White’s ‘The eagle is no omen’ + New Album Announcement
Wednesday, July 8th, saw yet another musical release from the brilliant Asher White. She returns with her newest single ‘The eagle is no omen’. This comes after her February album, ‘Jessica Pratt’, which is a complete track-by-track cover of Jessica Pratt’s 2012 self-titled debut. But her ridiculous musical output doesn’t stop there. Along with the single, White has announced her newest album, ‘Love Aggregates’. It will release on the 28th of August. The American multi-instrumentalist, producer, visual artist, and writer has been releasing music since she was 14 and doesn’t look to be stopping anytime soon.
To describe Asher White as an artist, songwriter, person or performer is more difficult than it might seem. She flies under the radar, floating in and out of genres. Many see her an an indie pop artist with folk influences. Others believe she pulls from 80’s indie, alternative rock to create her sound. Her avante garde experimental approach makes her music both refreshing and unique. But whatever the case may be, Asher White resists easy categorization and instead paves her own path. Her music invites openness and expression, creating space for listeners from every background to connect.
The 26 year old describes her new single as a “jaunty neon-soaked little number that is also contains a thorough psychoanalysis of myself.” The song builds upon White’s classic surreal imagery and emotional fragmentation. Beneath it all, there is a sort of quiet assessment of oneself. There’s a feeling of constant transition, like a never ending void or an insufferable limbo. It’s the inner torment of one grappling with their feelings. “Could you keep it? Believe it Could you keep it a secret? Could you keep it a secret without believing?” is the powerful chorus that questions one’s trust.
‘Love Aggregates’ and 2026
The song itself creates an uneasy feeling on a catchy beat. In a way, it is the pinnacle of what White wants for this album. Her announcement on instagram describes just this, “the record is made out of 11 songs for real burning hearts. the album is about how everything adds up. its named that like the verb (love is aggregating) and the noun (each song is a composite).” This will be the 16th album release since beginning her music career at the young age of 14.
White is set to embark on an Autumn 2026 Tour in theUK & Ireland. Stops in major cities like Manchester, Glasgow, London and Dublin will headline the month long excursion. In addition, she will also conduct six shows here in the states. Cities like Philadelphia, PA, Providence, RI and Baltimore, MD highlight her American leg in late October. Her next show will be at Night Club 101 inNew York, NY on July 31.
