Modest Mouse Returns With New Album After Five Years
Modest Mouse, the beloved indie rock band, is back with a new album.
After five years since the release of The Golden Casket, the band is back with An Eraser and a Maze. It is also the band’s first time making new music since the death of drummer Jeremiah Green in 2022.
According to a report from Consequence of Sound, lead singer Isaac Brock started to write songs after The Golden Casket and considered releasing them for his side project Ugly Casanova.
The new album produced by Brock features additional production from the likes of Jackknife Lee, Suzy Shinn and Justin Raisen.
An Eraser and a Maze features the lead singles Third Side of the Moon, Look How Far… and Picking Dragons’ Pockets. While Brock is the only remaining member of Modest Mouse, he is now joined by Simon O’Connor on guitar, Damon Cox on drums and Keith Karman on keyboards.
The band first exploded into stardom in the 2000s with indie rock hits such as Float On, Dashboard and The World at Large. The group has also contributed to numerous TV & movie soundtracks such as Gilmore Girls, Scrubs, Six Feet Under, Accepted and John Tucker Must Die.
To add on, the band is currently on tour celebrating the 30th anniversary of its debut album This Is a Long Drive for Someone with Nothing to Think About, with numerous stops throughout the U.S. including New York, California, Utah and Texas.
The third track off of their new album Life’s A Dream features an accompanying music video which is now currently available to watch on YouTube.
