NBA Playoffs Game 1s of Round 2 All Upsets?

The Play-in Tournament and the first round of the NBA Playoffs have concluded and we now only have eight teams that remain for the chase at the NBA title. Through the first three games of the second round all three top seeds in the Celtics, Thunder, and Cavaliers took a loss to the underdogs: Knicks, Nuggets, and Pacers.

Luckily the NBA Playoffs isn’t just based off of one game but instead a seven-game series. With that being said, many still believe in the Celtics, Cavaliers, and Thunder (including me) and think they can still win the series.

A song that reminds me of this circumstance is Morgan Wallen and Post Malone’s hit single “I Had Some Help.” The song is about how the two of them came together to get belligerently intoxicated and finish an entire bottle of liquor.

“I had some help

It ain’t like I could make this kind of mess all by myself

Don’t act like you ain’t help me pull that bottle off the shelf

Been deep in every weekend if you couldn’t tell

They say teamwork makes the dream work

Hell, I had some help.”

This really resonates with the circumstances of the top seeds losing because of the Celtics, Thunder, and Cavaliers collapsed from self-inflicted wounds in the game. Both the Cavs and the defending-champion Celtics shot a very low percentage from three in their respective games and the Thunder completely fell apart at the end of the game as they continuously fouled too early to give the Nuggets a chance at the end of regulation. Nuggets forward Aaron Gordon’s game-winning triple with .6 left on the clock is what sealed the come-back victory for the Nuggets over the Thunder.

The top seeds weren’t necessarily beaten by their opponent directly, but more beat themselves from the shooting mishaps and the self-inflicted wounds.
