Kingdom Come: The Long Awaited NFL Draft Is Here

The long awaited 2025 NFL Draft is this week, and with all the hype that surrounds the event, it looks like it’s going to be a spectacle this year in Green Bay, Wisconsin. From a journalist and fan perspective, the NFL Draft is such a huge event that when it comes to your city, the event quite literally takes over for basically that entire weekend. Every store and business in the area gets an influx of new customers as fans spend vacations in whatever city the draft is. This year, Wisconsin should be a great place to hold the draft with how much space they have in that area of the country.

As a draftee, your dreams are for-the-most-part about to come true. All the hours and hard work that has been put in since you started playing the game of football has all led to this day. It is a dream come true. Players are filled with emotions when they hear their name being called, and from what I understand are usually ready to put in the work and help whichever team drafts them.

With that being said, I feel as though Jon Bellion’s 2013 single “Kingdom Come” from his album the separation really paints the picture in music to represent this life-changing day for the NFL Draft draftees.

“I’m the storyline of Simba as we watch the rising sun

living prophecy is me Kingdom Come…”

“Demons seems so small

They’re the same ones that I fought in all my nightmares

and conquered in my dreams we have won

As I watch them fall

I begin to realize my only enemy is me Kingdom Come.”

The comparison from “Kingdom Come” to how the draftees feel about getting to the NFL Draft really stems in the growth and development the players had to go through to get to that moment. All the criticism, talks, workouts, drills, and overall preparation are their “demons” in Bellion’s song. They fought through It all and are about to start winning when they hear their name called and take the stage to shake the hand of NFL Commissioner, Rodger Goodell.
