International Everest Day is May 29th, commemorating the first time Everest was successfully summited on May 29th, 1953 by Sir Edmund Hillary of New Zealand and Sherpa Tenzing Norgay of Nepal, which we reference in “THE QUEST: Nepal,” since Tashi and Harz were all alone like Hillary & Norgay were back in 1953, and because of the weird striking physical similarities between Hillary and Harz and Norgay and Tashi. Somehow it was just meant to be, and the film offers audiences a unique flashback to that historic moment in time.
