Story Wear SS27 Brings Taiwan to NYFW

Taiwanese sustainable fashion brand Story Wear made its New York Fashion Week debut with “LOVE REVOLUTION: A Story of Taiwan,” presenting its Spring/Summer 2027 collection at Ideal Glass Studios on September 14.

Rather than approaching its New York debut as a traditional runway show, Story Wear created an immersive experience where fashion, art, music and storytelling came together. The presentation introduced New York audiences to the brand’s approach to circular design while placing Taiwanese culture, craftsmanship and community at the heart of the experience.

Following presentations at Taipei Fashion Week and Rakuten Fashion Week TOKYO, the move to New York marked another step in Story Wear’s international expansion and an opportunity to bring its distinctly Taiwanese perspective on sustainable fashion to a new audience.

For Spring/Summer 2027, the brand presented 30 looks comprising more than 70 handcrafted garments, accessories, and wearable artworks. The scale of the collection highlighted an approach to fashion that prioritizes craft and intentionality over speed.

That philosophy is central to LOVE REVOLUTION. The collection considers clothing not simply as something to consume, but as a vehicle for preserving stories, strengthening human connections, and giving existing materials another life.

Founded in Taiwan in 2018, Story Wear transforms discarded textiles into contemporary garments through a circular design model. Its environmental mission is intertwined with a social one, with the brand working alongside local artisans, second-career women, disability advocacy groups, and other community partners.

That collaborative approach gives the clothing significance beyond its materials. Each piece becomes part of a larger conversation about who makes fashion, what resources are used to create it, and how design can contribute to the communities surrounding it.

Bringing those ideas into an immersive NYFW environment allowed Story Wear to position sustainability as more than an industry talking point. Instead, circularity became part of a wider cultural narrative—one rooted in Taiwan while speaking to questions facing fashion globally.

With LOVE REVOLUTION: A Story of Taiwan, Story Wear’s first New York presentation became both an introduction and a statement of purpose. Through craftsmanship, community, and discarded materials given renewed value, the brand offered its own vision of what a more thoughtful fashion future could look like.
