Key Questions Ahead Of Peaky Blinders Series 6

Spoiler alert, if you haven’t watched up to the most recent series of Peaky Blinders, then you are going to want to look away. The BBC hit drama is set to return at the end of 2021, as the final series is aired. The Birmingham gang left us on the edge of our seats back in 2019 as the finale left us questioning everything. All our questions are hopefully going to be answered when the award-winning Peaky Blinders returns, but what are the burning questions that we need answering sooner rather than later?

What Happens To Tommy?

The final shot of the fifth series left fans on the edge of their seats, as Tommy ran into a field with a gun to his head. Knowing the life that he has, will he actually pull the trigger, especially the history of suicide in his family?

We are pretty safe to assume that this will not be the case considering that Cillian Murphy has been shooting scenes as Tommy throughout the summer. But, the question of who betrayed him in his planned assassination of Oswald Mosley could be his driving force.

Who Betrayed The Peaky Blinders?

The final episode was an action-packed hour, as the Peaky Blinders were setting up their plan of assassinating Mosley at a rally. However, the plan backfired, which saw Aberama Gold killed by Jimmy McCavern. Tommy will be left questioning over who to trust, and the list of culprits responsible for revealing the Blinders plan is long.

Billy Grade was told about the plan by Finn, which led to the dramatic final scene of Grade picking up the phone to make a call. However, he is by no means the only character that has an axe to grind. Michael and Gina are also up there, as they planned to overthrow Tommy, before the leader knocked back their claims. Gina’s Plan B could have been a more violent one.

What’s Next For Aunt Polly?

There is certainly going to be sadness around the new series, as it will be released after the tragic passing of Helen McCrory. The actress had played the powerful Aunt Polly throughout the series, but it’s unknown whether she had filmed scenes for the new series before her passing. That begs the question of whether she will be written out of the show, which could make sense, as she teased parting ways with the gang in the most recent series.

However, the majority of fans will be delighted to see McCrory reprise the role in the final series for even a couple of episodes, given how important she has been for the success of the show. It was also teased in the recent series that Tommy could end up killing Polly if he believes that she has sided with Michael over the Peaky Blinders, but only time will tell what happens.

What Does Alfie Solomons Have Planned?

One of the biggest shocks in the final episode was the return of Tom Hardy, playing Alfie Solomons. He was widely believed to be dead after betraying Tommy once again. However, he is alive and well, watching the ships go by. Solomons was aware of Tommy’s plan and could have played a role in it going wrong to get his revenge.

However, Tommy could yet have a plan for the former gang boss and may be part of the bigger pitcher. Winston Churchill could yet become a more important character in the final series, as he also offered his help to Tommy to take down the Oswald movement.
