ALÉMAIS Makes it’s International Debut!

ALÉMAIS

On May 20th, under the amber Moroccan sun and amid the artful corridors of the Culinary Art Museum in Marrakech, Australian fashion house ALÉMAIS unveiled its highly anticipated Resort 2026 collection. This first-time international runway show marked both a bold step for the brand and a poetic love letter to Moroccan culture.

The show brought together an eclectic front row of global style icons and tastemakers, including Princess Maria-Olympia of Greece, Leandra Medine Cohen, Adot Gak, Camelia Farhoodi, Violet Grace, Julia Haghjoo, and Eugenie Trochu, among others. Their presence reflected the brand’s growing international footprint and resonance with a generation drawn to artistry, ethics, and emotion.

For founder and creative director Lesleigh Jermanus, Marrakech was more than a location — it was the muse. “Like everything we do, we followed our heart,” she shared. “Travel and collaboration are the beating heart of ALÉMAIS.” That spirit was vividly brought to life through a breathtaking collaboration with artist Laurence Leenaert, founder of the acclaimed Moroccan design house LRNCE. Known for her ceramics and textiles that blend heritage with imagination, Leenaert’s fingerprints were felt throughout the show, from custom prints to the hand-touched texture of each garment.

Drawing from Marrakech’s medinas, faded-pink architecture, and swirling souks, the collection’s narrative was woven in earthy, sun-washed hues—soft oranges, lush greens, sandstones, and clay. Billowing silhouettes, softened utilitarian shapes, and a tactile mix of fabrics echoed the duality of the city: grounded yet free-spirited, ancient yet electric.

“There is something powerful in imperfection,” said Jermanus, whose artistic vision is rooted in sustainability and storytelling. That ethos was present in every piece, many of which were created using low-impact textiles and crafted in close collaboration with global artisans.

The show’s immersive atmosphere was amplified by thoughtful details: hairstyling by Wella led by Renya Xydis, natural makeup curated by Isabella Schmid of Assembly Agency using Eco by Sonya Driver, and creative direction spearheaded by stylist Julia Sarr-Jamois. The production was brought to life by Mimi’s House Creative with local expertise from Ghalia Chraibi of EDTRL Agency.

Together, they constructed more than just a runway—it was a cinematic voyage through fashion, memory, and Marrakech’s magnetic soul.

This Resort 2026 debut was not just a celebration of ALÉMAIS’s global reach but a defining moment that signaled the brand’s transformation from an Australian favorite into a full-fledged global force—one that champions collaboration, cultural storytelling, and wearable artistry.

As guests drifted from the museum into the golden dusk of the Moroccan evening, it was clear: ALÉMAIS had not just shown a collection—they had captured a feeling.
