Flau’Jae Johnson And Her Music Inspires Team During Postseason

The LSU Tigers’ women’s basketball team has had a great season finishing with a 28-5 record. Star forward Flau’Jae Johnson has been the driving force for her team on the court averaging 18.6 points per game which leads the team in scoring. With that being said, it’s what she has done off the court that has gotten a lot of recognition from her team.

Sophomore guard Mikaylah Williams on the team has been outspoken about how Johnson’s music career has helped the team as they compete for an SEC title and NCAA national title. Williams was very clear that the star’s music has been a big part of LSU’s success this season. It is said that the entire team listens to her songs in the locker room regularly. They play her music so often that the team knows all the lyrics.

Flau’Jae Johnson has been rapping and making music before the 2024-2025 season. It started in 2023 with her debut album 4 My Fans. Since then her music career has taken off and so has her basketball career. Since Angel Reese‘s departure from LSU, Johnson has accepted the mantel of number one option and kept LSU as championship contenders after winning the National Championship in the 2022-2023 season.

Johnson has been able to juggle music, basketball, and school this year as she came out with an album on Valentine’s Day titled Flau & B. It comes out the same week that the Tigers beat the Tennessee Lady Volunteers, one of the best teams at the time of the season.

With the NCAA Tournament coming up, the Tigers will have to wait to find out who they will play and what their seeding is. Thankfully it gives Johnson some time to rest her injured shin that has kept her out of recent LSU games.
