Noodles Takes Newport News
This past weekend, the city of Newport News transformed into a hub of innovation, culture, and collaboration as the inaugural NOODLE | The Thinkers Convention officially made its debut. Led by Mayor Phillip D. Jones, the two-day convention brought together influential voices across entertainment, business, technology, and community leadership with one mission in mind: building a stronger future through conversation, creativity, and collective action.
Held May 22–23, the convention welcomed an impressive lineup of industry leaders and cultural figures, including Chance the Rapper, Jermaine Dupri, Aloe Blacc, Terrence J, and Daymond John, among many others. From panel discussions and live programming to community-centered conversations and performances, NOODLE created a space where inspiration met opportunity.
What began as an ambitious idea quickly evolved into a landmark moment for the region. Throughout the weekend, attendees engaged in conversations centered on leadership, innovation, entrepreneurship, media, wellness, technology, and cultural impact. The event’s core message focused heavily on community collaboration and empowering the next generation of thinkers, creators, and changemakers.
The convention also highlighted the importance of regional growth and investment, encouraging attendees to view Newport News as a city filled with possibilities and forward-thinking leadership. Organizers thanked city officials, first responders, community partners, and attendees for helping bring the vision to life and for contributing to the convention’s atmosphere of unity and purpose.
Beyond the star-studded guest list, NOODLE ultimately served as a reminder that meaningful progress happens when culture, education, creativity, and leadership intersect. The weekend not only amplified conversations around innovation and community building but also positioned Newport News as an emerging destination for impactful cultural programming.
As the inaugural convention comes to a close, one thing is certain: NOODLE | The Thinkers Convention successfully planted the seeds for what could become a major annual gathering centered around ideas, collaboration, and the future.
