Super Pumped Premiered On Showtime

Super Pumped Premiered On Showtime

“Super Pumped” premiered on Showtime Feb. 27, 2022, and features former Uber CEO Travis Kalanick, played by Joseph Gordon-Levitt. The first season is called “Super Pumped: The Battle For Uber.” The 2019 book of the same name written by Mike Isaac is an influence to the drama series. The second season is about Facebook. Announcement for the second season occurred before the first season even premiered.

Plot

The first season covers the most successful and disastrous parts of the Uber franchise. Narrator Quentin Tarantino tells the story as Travis Kalanick’s perspective is the main form of media. The former CEO struggles with conflicts with negative and unknown consequences and is eventually removed from the company. With only three episodes released so far and seven total in the season, there is a lot the audience has not seen yet.

Joseph Gordan-Levitt

Joseph Gordan-Levitt has been in a number of different movies and shows since his acting debut in 1992. Notable films include “10 Things I Hate About You,” “Inception,” and “The Dark Knight Rises.” We have not seen the actor in many films in the past two years. This may be because of the pandemic or other circumstances, but the cause is unknown.

“Super Pumped” Characters

Alongside Joseph Gordan-Levitt is Kyle Chandler as Bill Gurley and Elisabeth Shue as Bonnie Kalanick. While the actors’ names may not be as recognizable, they still play an important role in the show. Other characters include Kerry Bishé as Austin Geidt, Jon Bass as Garrett Camp, Hank Azaria as Tim Cook, and Uma Thurman as Arianna Huffington. It will be intriguing to see where these characters take us as the show progresses.

The show releases on Showtime until April 10. The next season does not have a release date yet. The next season will focus on Facebook as the company has played a big role in affecting everyday life. Watch the trailer here.
