“Davey and Jonesie’s Locker” Premieres on Hulu

From Hulu and comedian Evany Rosen comes new sci-fi teen comedy series Davey and Jonesie’s Locker, premiering March 22.

Best friends Davey (Veronika Slowikowska) and Jonesie (Jaelynn Thora Brooks) are over high school. The teachers are weird, the students are sheep, and no one really gets them. Things couldn’t be more boring. That is, until their tenth grade science teacher Mr. Schneider (David Beirne) accidentally opens an interdimensional portal in their shared locker. The series follows Davey and Jonesie as they travel across space and time, visiting different versions of Schrödinger High School (Go Wild Cats!) and ripping anomalies in the multiverse.

The off-beat comedy is the creation of Canadian comedian and voice actor Evany Rosen. Rosen previously co-created and starred in the mockumentary series New Eden on Crave in 2020. Rosen also appears in Davey and Jonesie’s Locker as blissfully oblivious school principal Debbie Neighbors. The series ties together elements of sci-fi and absurdist humor, while tapping into the intensity of teen friendship (“I want to live in your brain,” Davey tells Jonesie in episode one). Slowikowska and Brooks bring a quippy and slightly awkward charm, reminiscent of Hulu’s hit Pen15 or cult classic Community, in a trope-heavy monster-of-the-week setting which may appeal to fans of Doctor Who or Julio Torres’ Max series Los Espookys.

Season one of Davey and Jonesie’s Locker is available now to stream on Hulu in the US and Amazon Prime in Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
